Overall crime is declining — but some stations are buckling

Most crime categories decreased nationally in Q4 2026. Murder fell 9.5%, carjacking fell 20.4%. However North West province saw murder increase 18.9%, and individual stations like Alexandra (carjacking +103%), Bishop Lavis (murder +60%), and Walmer (murder +50%) are bucking the national trend.
